Information we collect and why

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile picture, if provided. We use this information to create and identify your LocalShokal account and let you sign in. Our authentication system stores account details, sign-in tokens and session information. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files or contacts.

We store the shop information you provide, including your shop name, WhatsApp number, product photos, descriptions, prices and catalogue settings, to operate your shop. We also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs to maintain the service and investigate errors or misuse.

Public shops and WhatsApp

Publishing makes your shop details, products, photos and seller contact number available to visitors. Only publish information you want to share publicly. When a customer chooses to order, LocalShokal opens WhatsApp with a prepared message. The customer sends that message to the seller through WhatsApp; WhatsApp handles that communication under its own privacy policy. LocalShokal does not process payments.

AI tools and service providers

When you use an AI feature, relevant product photos, product or shop details and your instructions are sent through OpenRouter to the AI provider handling the request. These providers process that information under their own policies. Avoid including personal or sensitive information in photos or AI instructions. Review AI suggestions before publishing them.

We use infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare for product-image storage and delivery, to run the service. Information is shared with providers as needed to deliver these features. Google account information is used for authentication and account management, not for AI prompts or advertising. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or to address fraud, abuse or security incidents.

Cookies, storage and security

We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences. Your browser also stores information such as carts and wishlists and caches app files for offline use. You can clear this through your browser settings, which may sign you out or remove saved preferences. We use access controls and secure connections to protect information, but no service can guarantee complete security.

Retention and your choices

We keep account and shop information while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can edit your shop information or use “Delete shop” in settings to delete your shop and account. Some information may remain in backups, logs or image storage until removed through retention or cleanup processes, or where required by law. Deleting your account does not delete messages already sent through WhatsApp.
